Morzine is very touristic from mid-December to mid-April and then in July and August.
But what happens in between ?
We live here all year round and can assure you that there is a lot to do and see !
From mid-September, the village gets quieter. The tourists leave and go back to their lives. Some restaurants and stores close for well deserved holidays…..
WE stay in Morzine and enjoy the return of the quietness.
It is still possible to hike to the top of mountains, to walk along the river, to go foraging in the forest…..and enjoy the colors of the autumn!
Autumn is also the perfect time to visit the alpine cities like Annecy, Yvoire and Evian…..it is a lot less crowded and gives you an overview of the real lifestyle.
If you come to learn French, you could focus on your learning and relax. It is miles away from the hectic city life.
Time goes slower like a leaf blown by the wind.
We will have great conversations over walks and visits and in the evening we love to play board games by the wood stove.
And if it rains, don’t worry, we can still go out with boots and then cook delicious pumpkin pies or any other tasty meals with our chef and drink tea!
Autumn is THE season to discover the Alps and a great opportunity to improve your French!
